When it comes to community concern, real estate backers have it in spades. While many people might not understand that, the truth is, a good community means good real estate, better sales and more people wanting to move to that area. Judah Hertz recognized very early on in his career that his passion for a city could actually turn into a lavish living for himself if he was willing to make an investment. For Mr. Hertz, however, making money wasn’t his only reason for the real estate investing he has been involved with, it just happened to be the icing on the cake. He could help improve the city that he resided in or improve a community in need and create areas of value that people could be appreciative of their community.
Judah Hertz’ very first investments were dilapidated and deralect buildings in SoHo, New York. His love for the city that he lived in prompted his desire to create beautiful places for people to live, improve the community and make money in the process. In retrospect, he had found his dream job. Real estate investing became more than a hobby and more than a job, it was an investment in community growth and development that inevitably created jobs and interest in a part of the city that was considered beyond help new places for people to live and then set his sites on Miami. After a short time in Miami, he resumed the same affect he had on New York and then made a dramatic move to Los Angeles where he built his headquarters, his work in LA has made his company one of the premier real estate investing companies in the United States.
When real estate prices in LA became so outrageous that it became almost impossible to invest there, Judah Hertz looked forward again ,this time to New Orleans. Before Hurricane Katrina he had been named one of the greatest investors to take interest in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina literally destroyed the property that Judah Hertz invested in, but recognizing the need to rebuild in the New Orleans area, Mr. Hertz chose to invest even more money, some of it his own, into redeveloping the devastated area. Judah Hertz continues to advise his company in their real estate investing and his company continues to grow and provide high end real estate services around the country.
